Jaime Duque is the director of the Agrado Project in Quindío State in Colombia. Jaime is an Agricultural Engineer and in 1991 he started to work for Quindío Coffee Growers Committee as part of Colombian Coffee Federation.
He runs an educational program that involves all of the coffee chain, including training the growers three times a week. In Jaime’s mind “the only way to drink an excellent coffee is through education, education and education”.
Recently they opened an educational café in the National Coffee Park called Agrado Café where people and coffee lovers can enjoy a different types and preparations.
Jaime talked about the connection between bean defects, their causes and the possible solution. He also presented parchment and defect cupping workshops.
