Here is the Icelandic team ready to win the Nordic Barista Cup on home ground.
Pálmar has been a barista since February 2007. He was Icelandic Barista Champion 2008 and 2009 and 1st runner up in Latte Art 2009. Furthermore he was part of the Icelandic team in the European Team Coffee Challenge in Italy, 2008.
Favorite coffees: Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia and Fazenda da Lagoa in Brazil.
Other interests: acting, movie making, singing and reading.
Þuríður has been a barista since september 2005 and is currently working in Akureyri at Te & Kaffi. She has competed two times in the Icelandic Nationals and was judge in the Nationals this year. After working at Kaffitár for a year she decided to work as a volunteer in Mexico working as a barista in Mexico City while on a vacation from volunteer work. She helped the Mexican Champion 2007 and trained the staff that worked with her. Favorite Coffee: Yirgacheffe and Nicaragua Cortes

Been working as a Barista since september 2005. Harpa has competed three times in the Icelandic National Barista Championship. In 2007 she came in number eight, and got second in 2008 and 2009. She was part of the Icelandic team in the European Team Coffee Challenge in Russia, 2007. Favorite coffees: Sumatra Lingtong, Nicaragua Cortes from farmer Ricardo Rosales.
Other interests: Traveling in Iceland and abroad, taking photos, a good movie and to go out, get a drink and dance amongst good friends.
Tumi has worked as a barista since 2006. This year he competed in the Icelandic Cup Tasting championship, and became Icelandic National Cup Taster’s champion 2009. Favourite coffees: El Salvador (Finca La Fany) and Sumatra Lingtong. Preferably as espresso (Chemex is fine too!).
