Jon Niemimaa, Barista
20 years, Turku
Jon is the Finnish Barista Champion of 2007 and will be representing Finland at the WBC 2007 in Tokyo.
He works as a barista in Café Art in Turku. First time in Nordic Barista Cup.
Petra Koivukangas, Barista
30 years, Helsinki
Petra was 2nd in the Finnish Barista Championship 2007. She has worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years among other things as a superior bartender and head waiter. Today she works as a teacher and gives courses in coffee serving to waiters at a restaurant school in Helsinki. First time in Nordic Barista Cup.
Simo Horto, Barista
31 years, Tampere
Simo has worked at the Mokkamestarit roastery in Tampere for 5 years as a barista, roaster and coffee taster. He had the honour to be one of the members of the jury in Guatemala Cup of Excellence 2007. First time in Nordic Barista Cup.
Lauri Vainio, Sommelier
27 years, Helsinki
Lauri is working in restaurant Ilmatar in designhotel Klaus K as a sommelier. He is the Winemaster of 2007 in Finland. He will be representing Finland at this years Nordic Sommelier competition. He also has worked at the wineyards Château Troplong-Mondot, Bordeaux Domaine de Montille, Bourgogne & Dr. Bürklin-Wolf, Pfalz. First time in Nordic Barista Cup.
Krister Kaattari, Coach
35 years, Kerava
Today Krister works as a Quality (Coffee) Controller for Oy Gustav Paulig Ab. He also finetunes his barista skills at the Paulig Coffee Institute. Before he began to work at the Paulig roastery in 2002 as a barista trainer he worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years. He also has experience in coaching a volleyball team in 1993-1994. Third time in the Nordic Barista Cup.
