The team has to be approved by the Swedish organizing committee. Before 1st of July 2007 we need the names of the team members and jpg files with a team picture (for the website).
A national team consists of three baristas, one sommelier and a coach.
Sommelier: A beverage responsible person, who can speak and communicate in the language of taste to end consumers. The sommelier is active in a restaurant environment, preferably educated.
A sommelier needs to have worked as a professional sommelier (has been paid) or/and educated.
Coach: Definition from a dictionary: “ Coaching is defined as an instructional method in which a teacher supports students as they perfect old skills and acquire new skills”.
A coach is a person who has a record of coaching and being paid at such = professional. Preferably somebody from outside the coffee business who can inspire and teach, so we can find new ways in the coffee business. Use your local network to find a coach.
Hotel for teams:
For your information the Swedish organizing committee booked hotel rooms for you at the Hotel Panorama. Each team has one double room and one triple room. The price for this is 450 SEK night/person.

Homework for teams:
There is some homework for the national teams before they arrive in Gothenburg:
Each team has to make a business plan for their idea of the future coffee shop. This has to be presented by one person (only) from the team on Thursday morning. For this presentation you can choose to use the audio/video equipment on location or/and to make a power point presentation.
The business plan should be 1-2 A4 pages. Better short and precise then long and boring.
In this presentation you will need to present the team members and their role on the team and in the future coffee shop. The business plan better be good and capable of being realized, because you will be working on it several times during the Nordic Barista Cup 2007.
The presentation will be judged by skilled entrepreneurs, and the team will be examined in the decisions made.
